Lekeshia has over 25 years experience in health/mental health and has worked with populations to include: Intellectual disabilities, Adult and Youth mental health treatment, Geriatric healthcare, Substance Use Disorders, Managed Care and Residential Services. Lekeshia is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Masters of Social Work program 2015 and a 2014 graduate of Johnson C Smith University. Lekeshia has an extensive history working on the current recovery movement to address the Opioid crisis through providing the preventative measure in addition to advocating and lobbying for improvements of the peer recovery movement to encourage positive change in funding and service provisions. 

 

Lekeshia is a clinical psychotherapist with 3 years of experience providing individual and group therapy to adults and adolescents with an integrative and Eclectic approach to psychotherapy. This therapeutic approach is a form of psychotherapy in which the clinician uses more than one theoretical approach, or multiple sets of techniques, to help with clients' needs which blend elements from different approaches and tailor their treatment according to each client's needs.

  • Graduate from The University of South Carolina Columbia, SC Masters of Social Worker program 2015 with a specialization in clinical counseling. 

  • Graduate from Johnson C Smith University Metropolitan College Charlotte, NC  with a Bachelors degree in Social Work 2014  concentrating in psychology and addiction. 

  • Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling 2004 Stanly Community College Albermarle, NC.
